The rear silencer is the last part of the exhaust system. It is also the part where moisture remains longest. This moisture in combination with the acids from exhaust gases makes this muffler the most sensitive to wear. The rear damper is also important for the noise production of your Triumph TR2, Triumph TR3, Triumph TR3A, Triumph TR4, Triumph TR4A.
Signs of a defect on the rear silencer:
-Rust on the rear silencer
-Breaks in the rear damper
-Increased engine noise while driving
Causes of rear silencer failure:
-Still moisture in combination with acids from the exhaust gases
-Rusty exhaust clamps
-Swear on the suspension rubbers
